What I speak about as "fear" is a much smaller thing than you would think and it does not even need to be called "fear." It is a sense of endangerment that arises with the appearance of self-consciousness. It is extremely subtle and it fixes the point of view from which we relate to the unfolding of the life -- until that point of view is eradicated. What eradicates it is the inquiry, the noticing of oneself.
